Hi...let us tell you a little bit about who we are. We have been crafting for over 20 years, we began making candles when we found that I could not keep up with the sewing of country items to keep my booth space full at craft shows at the end of the season and decided to try making a few candles to "fill-in"..my husband soon became the candle-maker and boy did life change...we were suddenly concentrating entirely on candles, and after spending thousands of dollars and hours on trial and error we finally have perfected this craft, in fact, at craft shows we were constantly asked if we had a Shoppe...made us think that maybe we should give that a try. On the way to show we went through a very small town and what do you know a "For Lease" sign on the door of a corner store that I had always admired...well, hubby stood right behind me and we decided to take the plunge and try our own business...mind you, we were both still working full time jobs and depending on family to help during our work hours which worked out rather well until Mom got sick, we then had to hire someone to run the store during the day and we worked every weekend and every week night leaving little time for "life". Then, the good ole' economy took a dive and we were paying our help more than we were taking in...we made the decision to let our dream go and we had to close the store, that was just one year ago. Still not giving up, we continue to participate in Craft Shows and still get asked if we have a "Shoppe" and now we can offer our goods on-line.
The name of our Candle Company is Kaylee's Candle Cupboard, when we learned we had to come up with a name we searched for months, finally using by husband's middle name "Lee" and my middle name "Kay" hence Kay-Lee. Our website name Kaylee-n-Company only seemed right...the Company represents our "baby" Sammy a one and a half year old Shih-Tzu who keeps us sane, our Son and Daughter-In-Law and in May 2007 little "Ellasyn" will be here...
We also promote Craft Shows in Michigan, our best one being The Royal Craft Show at Castle Farms, held in Charlevoix, Michigan each Labor Day Weekend.
Yes, we are very busy, but wouldn't have it any other way.
Keep checking in as we will be updating this area often with any new endeavors that may come our way.
Thank you for visiting....
